The CIDFP designation program is designed to equip participants with an understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, incident response, digital forensics, legal considerations, and insurance strategies, culminating in an in-person practical ransomware claim wargame to enhance risk assessment, claims handling, and product development skills while fostering effective communication across technical and insurance functions.
How is the CIDFP designation program formatted?
This hybrid program combines on-demand sessions, live Q&A webinars, and an in-person capstone session where faculty will guide participants through an end-to-end cyber claim wargame. The on-demand sessions and live Q&A webinars will be available here in the PLUS Learning Center. The capstone session will be held in-person at the Marriott Marquis in New York on March 1, 2027.
Why can't I see all the on-demand sessions right now?
On-demand sessions will be released in groups of 2-3 sessions at designated times. Check the Schedule tab for dates (subject to change).
What's included in the on-demand sessions?
On-demand sessions include faculty-led instructional videos and knowledge check questions to help reinforce your understanding of the content. Participants can view available on-demand sessions at their own pace. We recommend being caught up on sessions before the live Q&A webinars to get the most out of your experience.
What are the live Q&A webinars?
Before the next group of on-demand sessions is released, there will be a live Q&A webinar with the faculty from the current group of sessions. Participants can use this time to ask any questions they may have before moving on to the next group of sessions. Attending the live Q&A webinars is optional.
How do I submit a question for a live Q&A webinar?
Post your question on the Submit A Question tab. Please include the session number your question pertains to (if applicable) so we can be sure it's directed to the appropriate faculty. To ensure faculty has time to read all questions before the live Q&A, please post your questions 3 days ahead of the scheduled live Q&A webinar. If you don't post your question ahead of time, no worries! Faculty will also answer questions live during the Q&A.
What will be covered at the in-person capstone session?
Faculty will guide participants through an end-to-end cyber claim wargame where they will work through a simulated ransomware incident, coverage decisions, negotiation dynamics, notification and regulatory obligations, board reporting, and post-incident improvement planning. This exercise ties together technical, legal, and insurance decision-making in real time.
What if I can't attend the in-person capstone session?
Please contact the PLUS Education team for further information.
What do I need to complete in order to "pass" this program and earn my CIDFP designation?
Completion of all on-demand sessions and the capstone session are required. Participants can view available on-demand sessions at their own pace, but should plan to complete all of them before the in-person capstone session to maximize their learning experience. Attending the live Q&A webinars is optional.
How long do I have access to the program content?
Each cohort of participants will have access to content until the following October. For example, if you enroll in the 2026 cohort, you're access will end in October 2027.
